Can Students Awaiting Class 12th Results Appear in SLAT 2026?

According to the official rules that have been posted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University), students appearing in their Class 12 (10+2) examinations or awaiting results can apply and write the SLAT 2026 exam. The minimum eligibility criteria of SLAT are that the applicant must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent exam by a recognised board with a minimum of 45 per cent marks (40 per cent in case of SC/ST applicants).

SLAT 2026 Admission Procedure: Provisional and Final

Applicants awaiting Class 12 grades are granted provisional admission based on the performance in SLAT, Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interaction (PI) rounds. After the qualifying examination (10+2) results have been published, such candidates have to provide their mark sheets and evidence of passing with minimum qualifying marks during the final admission and verification of documents.

It is important to note:

  • This is a provision until the candidate submits the Class 12 pass certificate/mark sheet with qualifying marks.

  • Inability to produce the necessary mark sheet ascertaining eligibility within the given time can result in the cancellation of admission despite passing through all levels of the SLAT 2026 selection process.

Conducting SLAT would also be fair and inclusive, thus avoiding the Class 12 students being denied an important admission process. It provides both board exam and law entrance preparation simultaneously, and it is also in line with most Indian entrance exams, such as CLAT, LSAT-Indi etc.

Check the tips for  SLAT 2026 applicants who are waiting for their results or going to  appear for the exam in 2026 below:

  • Do not delay your application; apply for SLAT even if your board exam results are pending. Currently, online registration for SLAT is ongoing and the last date to submit SLAT 2026 application form is November 30, 2025.

  • Thoroughly prepare your list of required documents in advance—especially the expected date of result declaration, roll number, school details etc.

  • Track the official notification of your board/university to promptly obtain your marksheet for the final admission process.

  • If you do not clear your 12th exam or fail to achieve the required percentage, you will not be considered for final admission even if you have cleared SLAT and subsequent stages.

Overall, the students waiting to get their Class 12 results can take the SLAT, provided they achieve the minimum marks requirements once the results are announced. With this system, current year passouts have an easy time getting admission, as long as they meet all final eligibility requirements during admission.

Yes, candidates are allowed to use a pen and blank sheets of paper for rough work during the LPUNEST online proctored exam. The sheets must be completely blank before the test begins, and the proctor may request a webcam check of these sheets at any point. This ensures exam integrity while still giving students the flexibility to do necessary calculations.
