It must be noted that candidates will only be permitted to attend the counselling process if they have paid the CLAT counselling fee of Rs. 30,000 (20,000 for reserved categories) before the deadline. For document verification, the candidates who have reserved the designated seats will be contacted. The relevant NLUs and other participating colleges publish their cut offs following the release of the CLAT 2026 results. On the official website, candidates who get the minimum required marks must register for CLAT 2026 centralized counselling. The steps in the procedure are as follows:

CLAT 2026 Counselling Fees

A few of the important points regarding CLAT 2026 counselling fee payment are mentioned below:

  • Candidates must pay the counselling cost, which is Rs 30,000 for candidates in the unreserved category and Rs 20,000 for candidates in the SC/ST.
  • Online payment methods for the counselling fees include credit card, debit card, and net banking. The CLAT registration portal will include a payment gateway.
  • Before the deadline, the CLAT 2026 counselling cost must be turned in. Candidates won't be taken into consideration for seat allocation if they don't pay the counselling fee.
  • The course prices are adjusted with the CLAT counselling charge. Candidates will need to pay the course fee after adjusting for the counselling registration charge when submitting their course fees at the designated NLU.

CLAT 2026 Seat Allocation

The Consortium will compile a list of all applicants in order of merit upon registration. The CLAT merit list will be used to determine who gets the first seat. The following options will then be presented to the contestants.

Accept the Seat

The applicant accepts the seat at the NLU that has been assigned to them. They are prohibited from taking part in any subsequent CLAT counselling sessions in 2026. The applicant may now upload their paperwork online.

Apply for Upgrade

These candidates want an upgrade because they are not happy with their current position. These applicants will be regarded as participants in the subsequent round of seat distribution.

Exit From the Seat Allotment

If the candidate wants to resign from consideration, 40,000 INR will be returned to their accounts after the processing fees have been deducted.

Note: Three seat allocations will be made public by the Consortium of NLUs. The applicants must be aware that their INR 50,000 payment will be returned if they are not offered a seat until the third round.
