UPTET 2025 Exam Postponed to Avoid Dates Overlap with Other Recruitment ExamsUPTET 2025 exam, which was scheduled to be conducted on January 29 and 30, 2025, has now been postponed until further notice so as to avoid an overlap wth other recruitment exams. The updated schedule is expected to be out soon. This decision was made by the newly appointed chairman and former DGP of UPSESSB, Prashant Kumar. The exam delay news has impacted nearly 15 lakh candidates, as they were waiting for over 4 years for the exam to be conducted. The January exam was supposed to be the first to be held after 2022, raising hopes among lakhs of aspirants looking forward to the recruitment opportunities in govt schools across UP.
Going by the speculations, the decision to delay the exam was cited as due to administrative and technical preparations. However, the commission is yet to issue any official statement regarding the exam defer. Explaining the issue, the board said, “It was decided that a comprehensive schedule for all pending examinations, including the Uttar Pradesh Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), and TET exams, would be prepared after reviewing the examination schedules of other commissions and institutions”.
The board further added, “Prashant Kumar assumed office as chairman on December 19, and his term will be for three years. Meanwhile, the other commission members have one year remaining in their term. Conducting the long-pending examinations in a timely and transparent manner is one of the major challenges facing the new leadership”.
The exam aspirants and their guardians are advised to keep checking the official website to be acquainted with the regular updates and avoid trusting any rumours or social media claims. The authority is expected to issue a fresh notice pertaining to the updated UP TET 2025 exam schedule in the coming days.
UPTET is a state-level exam that is held to check the eligibility of the candidates to appoint them as Primary and Upper Primary teachers in the schools across Uttar Pradesh. Conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, this exam is conducted in two shifts for two papers, UP TET 1 for those who wish to become teachers of classes 1-5, and UPTET 2 for those candidates who plan on teaching classes 6-8. However, those who aspire to become teachers of classes 1-8 need to take both papers.
