M.G Charitable Trust manages the Institute, which was founded in 1997. The institution's flagship courses are B.Tech and M.Tech, but it also offers 55+ courses across 8 streams, including BBA, B.COM, MBBS, Ph.D., and various Diploma courses. EPGI also offers courses in a variety of disciplines such as Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, and Medicine. Admission to all M.Tech programmes is based on valid GATE or KMAT scores, whereas admission to B.Tech programmes is based on COMEDK UGET or KCET scores.
