The GITAM application form 2023 phase 3 has begun on the official website. The GAT 2023 application form is now available at gitam.edu. The GITAM GAT 2023 application form is available online.  GITAM applications are now open for our Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in Architecture, Science, Engineering, Humanities, Law, Management, Nursing, Paramedical, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy at Visakhapatnam campus. Candidates can apply for GITAM GAT 2023 phase 3 registration until May 31, 2023. 

Candidates must use their current personal, academic, and contact information to complete the GITAM GAT 2023 application form. Before submitting the GITAM GAT 2023 application, candidates are advised to confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements.Candidates preparing for the GITAM GAT exam 2023 must complete the application form before the deadline.

The Venture Development Centre at GITAM Deemed to be University, in collaboration with Northeastern University Centre for Entrepreneurship Education (NUCEE), Center for Emerging Markets at Northeastern University (NUCEM), and Startup India, is set to host SmartIDEAthon-2023. This student idea pitching competition aims to promote innovation on relevant themes for our nation. Students from various domains are invited to showcase their ideas and compete for exciting prizes. The competition will focus on the following domains: Food & Health, Toys for S.T.E.M, Sustainable Fashion, and Frugal Innovation. 

Participants stand a chance to win cash prizes and grants, including a fully or partially sponsored trip to Boston, USA. The total prize money at the finale of the event is set at up to Rs 30 lakhs. The grand finale of SmartIDEAthon-2023 will take place on the 24th and 25th of August in Hyderabad. Interested students are encouraged to register for the competition by June 10, 2023. 

Candidates enrolling at GITAM Vizag are suggested to apply for GAT by April 24, 2023, to avail merit scholarships. After applying for the GITAM Admission Test (GAT), candidates must participate in the counselling process as per the given schedule. If a student is eligible for GAT scholarship under more than one category, they will be offered the highest percentage of GITAM Vizag scholarship. The merit scholarships are applicable only for the first year. If the candidate scores a CGPA of 8 or above, the same scholarships will be continued in the subsequent years of the course. Students who are children of GITAM employees and have been admitted to full-time programmes are eligible for only 25% of the GAT merit scholarship. Candidates taking GITAM Vizag admissions through the GAT Scholarship Scheme are also eligible for additional scholarships such as the Alumni Returning to Higher Education Scholarship, Sibling Scholarship, Alumni Children Scholarship, and Retired Employee Children Scholarship.

On April 20, 2023, GITAM Vizag is organising a workshop on Fulbright Fellowship opportunities in the USA at VDC Classroom 1, VDC Bldg. The Fulbright-Nehru and other Fulbright scholarships provide scholars and professionals in India the opportunity to engage in advanced academic pursuits, research, and teaching in the United States. In 2023, GITAM University Visakhapatnam became a part of the Common University Entrance Test conducted by the National Testing Agency. The university will now release the GITAM Vizag cut off 2023 for all the categories based on the CUET UG 2023 scores. Based on the cutoff, a merit list will be prepared. Shortlisted candidates will be then called in for counselling conducted by the university itself where they need to select the desired course, get their documents verifies and pay the admission fees.

GITAM University Visakhapatnam is organising the final interview of M.Tech, MBA and MCA students for the job vacancies in Federal Bank. The interview will be held from April 18, 2023 to April 19, 2023, at CGC Office, ICT Bhavan, GITAM Vizag. Federal Bank Limited is one of India's top private-sector banks. On February 22, 2023, ‘Study Australia Showcase’ was held at GITAM University. Australian Trade & Investment Commission partnered with three south Indian universities for the 'Study Australia Showcase' with free entry for the students and parents. Reva University and Karunya University are the other two universities. Interested attendees interacted with representatives from 13 of Australia's top universities, namely, University of Sydney, University of Queensland, Monash University, University of Technology-Sydney, Macquarie University, University of Tasmania, Griffith University, La Trobe University, Flinders University, James Cook University- Brisbane, Bond University, CQ University, Melbourne Institute of Technology and Deakin University. They even interacted with the government officials of the commission.

Inter-University Targetball Tournament was inaugurated at GITAM Vizag on Wednesday 8, 2023. M. Sribharath, GITAM's president stated while inaugurating that targetball is one of the latest trends in the country. 29 university teams will participate in the tournament from across the country. 

The Bharatiya Targetball Association was founded by Sonu Sharma and the game had started in 2012 in Uttar Pradesh. The game was also recognised by the Association of Indian Universities in 2017. Targetball is combination of handball and basketball and comprises two teams with six players each who either strive to gain possession of the ball. The team that has the ball has to move the ball into the target ring from where a target can be scored, while the opponent team has to use defensive strategies to prevent this and gain back the ball. In the end the team with the more number of targets is the winner. 

GITAM has announced the dates for the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) 2023. Candidates must note that the GAT 2023 MBA phase 1 examination will be conducted on February 5, 2023. Applications for GAT 2023 MBA phase 2 are currently open and the last date to apply is March 1, 2023. For GAT 2023 all programmes phase 1, the last date to apply is March 26, 2023. 

Candidates who are appearing for GAT 2023 have to an application fees of Rs 1200 while submitting the application form. GITAM Vizag will hold the personal interviews (PI) prior to counselling for UG and PG students in humanities, law, and management programmes. GITAM GAT 2023 Important Dates

Candidates seeking GITAM admissions to various courses must appear for the GAT and secure qualifying marks to get accepted into the university. Registrations for GAT MBA 2023 phase 1 will end today for GITAM admissions. Candidates must note that the GAT MBA 2023 phase 1 examination is scheduled to be conducted on February 5, 2023. Candidates must download their GAT admit card as soon as possible before the examination. Registrations for GAT MBA 2023 phase 2 will begin on March 1, 2023. 

GAT MBA 2023 Schedule

GITAM is currently seeking qualified candidates for the positions of Project Associate and Project Staff for a variety of research projects. Candidates can go through the project details, eligibility criteria, and other information given below.

Project Associate

Applications are being accepted for the position of Project Associate in the DST-SERB (SRG) project titled "Secure Control Algorithms Design for Distributed Formation and Containment Control Problems Subjected to Cyber Attacks".

• Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have M.Tech degree with first class in any specialisation of Electronics & Communication Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a recognised university.
• Fellowship: Rs. 31,000 per month along with HRA will be given to GATE/NET qualified candidates and Rs. 25,000 per month along with HRA for non-GATE/non-NET candidates. Candidates who have qualified NET/GATE will be given preference.
• Duration: Initially one year, if performance is satisfactory or else may be extended to another year.
• Skills Required: Must have knowledge in Control Systems, Probability and Random Processes, Linear Algebra,  MATLAB and Python

Project Staff - ICMR Project

Applications are being accepted for a research project titled "Comprehensive Tribal Management for Decentralised TB Care Services," which is being funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research. The working location is Paderu, Alluri Sitharama Raju district. The rest of the details are given below.

• Research Assistant: The upper age limit is 30 years, and candidates must be a graduate in science or relevant subjects from a recognised university with a work experience of 3 years from a recognised institution, or a master’s degree in the relevant subject is required. The salary will be Rs 31,000 and the duration is for 2 years.
• Project Technician I: The upper age limit is 25 years, and candidates must have passed high school or its equivalent with one year of experience in a related field from a government institution or a recognised institution. The salary will be Rs 16,000 for 8 months.
• Project Technician III: The upper age limit is 30 years and candidates must have passed 12th standard in science subjects and a 2 year diploma in medical laboratory (CBNAAT) is required. The salary will be Rs 18,000 for 8 months
• Field worker : The upper age limit is 30 years and candidates must have passed high school or equivalent with science subjects along with a certificate course in MPHW(M/F) with 5 years of experience from a recognised institute. The salary will be Rs 18,000 for 8 months.
• Medical Doctor for campus: The upper age limit is 60 years and candidates must have passed MBBS/BHMS/BAMS from an NMC recognised institute. The salary will be Rs 2,000  per day for 8 months

SHORE 2023 is the first edition of the fest that will be held at GITAM University. The fest will be held on February 3, 4, and 5, 2023 in the GITAM Vizag campus. SHORE 2023 is a fest that will include both athletic and artistic endeavours. The fest is a themed event, and this year's theme is the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. The goals are:

• Good health and well being
• Quality education
• Gender equality
• Reduced inequalities
• Peace, justice and prosperity

In order to promote the theme, GITAM is organising events across its three campuses. These include a bottle collection campaign that aims to use the waste bottles collected for the fest's decor and a campaign to encourage the use of hand-crafted bags, also known as tote bags, which will be used during the fest. The registration process will begin on January 23, 2023, and will be open throughout the festival, except from 6 pm to 11 pm on pro nights. Entry to the pro nights will be permitted only after registration has been completed.

GITAM Deemed to be University geotagged the trees and shrubs on its Visakhapatnam campus on Wednesday, January 18 2023, in an effort to raise awareness about the importance of greenery. The project, which was initiated by the GITAM School of Architecture in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Technology Solutions (CATS) and the GITAM Hospitality Department, was completed in three months.

As part of this geotagging project, a team first gathered basic information about the trees on campus and created a database. The 130 tree and plant species were given QR codes that contained images as well as in-depth data about their classification, distribution, flowering and fruiting, and economic significance. Professor Mohan, dean of the GITAM School of Architecture, stated on this occasion that the primary goal of the geotagging project is to create a connection between people and plants and improve their knowledge.

An Animal House was inaugurated at GITAM Vizag, to foster internal research in the newly emerging fields of experimental pharmacology, molecular biology, and toxicology. The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy Products of the Government of India has registered Animal House, GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam, with the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), under registration number 1287/PO/Re/S/2009/CPCSEA. The animal house (197 sqm) is designed to support in-house and collaborative research on small animals for educational purposes. The animals were all obtained from CPCSEA registered breeders.

Scope of the Animal House

• Creating new therapeutic molecules from natural/synthetic/biological sources for disease management.
• Investigating the characteristics, safety, and efficacy of new chemical entities.
• Determining the PK-PD correlation of a drug and its formulations.
• Creating animal models to investigate potential disease-progression mechanisms

GITAM Visag’s chief technology officer, G. Gopalakrishna, stated that GITAM Deemed to be University will begin providing eduroam (education roaming) service to students and faculty in the upcoming academic year (2023-2024). Users in higher education and research can access the internet securely while roaming internationally with Eduroam.

When compared to other countries, India's Eduroam network is mostly limited to a few premier academic institutes, including a few in Andhra Pradesh. Each participating institute reciprocates by making its Internet available. The staff and students of the institution can access the internet at other universities that are a part of the eduroam network anywhere in the world by signing up with Eduroam.

GITAM Vizag celebrated "Bharatiya Bhasha Divas" on December 11, 2022. The Indian government declared this day to promote "language harmony" and foster an environment conducive to learning Indian languages and accepting the diversity of India's various languages. On this auspicious occasion, GITAM Vizag faculty members from various regional language backgrounds came together to represent their mother tongue through various poems, songs and storytelling. Various performances in languages such as Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Manipuri, Odiya, Pahadi, and Telugu were held at the Sandesha Sabha auditorium in Koneru Ramakrishna Bhavan. The event concluded with all of the faculty from various languages singing the National Anthem.

GITAM has signed an MOU with Aquity Solutions India, a global leader in digital scribe, medical documentation, and coding. GITAM Vizag was the first institution visited by Aquity and they recruited 12 students from the pharmacy and eight students from life sciences for their Visakhapatnam operations during the year 2021-22.  Mr Subrahmanya Sarma Balijepalli, Executive Director, India Operations, stated that they are pleased with the calibre of students who have joined from GITAM Vizag and are outperforming their expectations. As part of this MoU, Aquity Solutions will assist GITAM University by training students and staff in the domain and related technologies through close collaboration with the Academic process. During his interactions with the Dean, Principal, and other teaching staff members from the School of Pharmacy and the GITAM Career Guidance Centre, Mr. Kashyap Joshi, President and CEO of Aquity Solutions, was also present.

Through its Green Built Environment course for M.Arch students, GITAM has received the Green Champion Award for being an "Institution encouraging IGBC Green Education Programme." The Green Champion Award was received by Professor K Mohan, Director of GITAM School of Architecture. The honour is given in appreciation of GITAM's initiatives to adopt sustainable goals and for having the potential to motivate others, thereby advancing the Indian Green Building Movement.
