NMIMS Hyderabad's 'Nishchay' Committee Fostering Social Responsibility and Community Impact

'Nishchay', the student-led social responsibility committee at NMIMS Hyderabad, is a testament to the institution's commitment to societal impact. The committee, headed by Subhraneel Baruah and co-headed by Priyanka Raheja, comprises 69 students who actively engage in fostering change and contributing meaningfully to society.  

On July 30, 2023, Nishchay visited the TOUCH orphanage in Hyderabad, engaging with the children through games and gifts. The committee also participated in the ‘Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta: A Step Towards Building a Clean Nation’ initiative and organised a blood donation drive in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Mahabubnagar. The event received participation from various schools and an overwhelming response from 104 donors. Nishchay is planning the ‘Joy of Giving Week’, a fundraising and collection drive for marginalised communities. The committee aims to assist NMIMS Hyderabad students in understanding societal issues and making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged.

New Moot Court Hall Launched at NMIMS Hyderabad School of Law

NMIMS Hyderabad School of Law recently inaugurated a new Moot Court Hall, marking a significant addition to the institution's academic and legal infrastructure. The hall is designed to enhance the academic experience of law students by providing them with a realistic courtroom experience. The inauguration was attended by Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy, Judge at the Telangana High Court, Justice B. Papireddy, Principal District and Sessions Judge at Mahbubnagar, and other dignitaries. The Moot Court aims to foster skills such as legal research, persuasive argumentation, and public speaking among students. 

Dr. Mohammed Samiulla Arab, Associate Dean, School of Law, Hyderabad, NMIMS, stated, “The newly established Moot Court Hall at NMIMS School of Law Hyderabad is a state-of-the-art infrastructure that provides students with a realistic courtroom experience, including modern technology, professional resources, and expert guidance. It is focused on imparting invaluable skills to the students, preparing them for a successful legal career.”

NMIMS SBM Hyderabad Student Shimir Mishra Wins National 'Niti Shastra' Case Study Competition

Shimir Mishra, a first-year Master in Business Administration student from NMIMS School of Business Management Hyderabad, has made history by winning the national level case study competition, 'Niti Shastra'. The competition was organised by the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Pune in August 2023.

'Niti Shastra' comprises three rounds, including an MCQ round, a case study analysis, and a presentation round. The MCQ round includes 30 questions on government policy, economies, rates, public figures, and current affairs, with a requirement to answer at least 26 questions correctly to progress. Mishra, with his strong knowledge of current affairs and passion for case study analysis, cleared this round with ease.

In the second round, participants are given a real-life case study and must prepare a PowerPoint presentation outlining the key aspects and proposing solutions. The final round involves an expert jury assessing the presentations and asking students to demonstrate how their proposed solutions could be implemented in reality.

Prior to 'Niti Shastra', Shimir had participated in 12 major case study competitions, including Foresight & Havoc from IIM Bangalore, Flipkart Wired, TVS Credit, Amazon, HUL Lime, and more. Despite advancing in the preliminary rounds of all these competitions, he had not achieved success in the later stages. However, these experiences taught him perseverance and motivated him to participate in more contests.

MBA Admissions in Telangana 2025: Dates, Selection Process, Eligibility, Top Colleges

MBA admissions in Telangana 2025 are conducted by the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) through the TS ICET exam, renamed to TG ICET. More than 200 colleges accept the score of TS ICET for MBA admissions. However, some colleges accept only national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, CMAT, and more. Colleges offering MBA courses in Telangana will shortlist you based on the scores you obtained on the entrance tests and if you fulfill the eligibility criteria for admissions. If you are targeting any particular college you must check whether it accepts the relevant entrance exam scores and check its eligibility criteria before applying for counselling. TG ICET 2025 will be conducted on June 8 & 9, 2025. The detailed TG ICET notification 2025 will be released on March 6, 2025.

NMIMS MBA Admission 2025: Selection Criteria (Changed), Dates, Eligibility, Cutoff, Fees

NMIMS MBA admission 2025 is open as the shortlist has now been released for all courses. This year, the selection criteria have been modified with an introduction of a competency assessment (CA). Earlier, the NMIMS admission process involved a WAT and a WATSON Glaser test. NMIMS has released the details about the competency assessment. Registration for the CA PI rounds was open till January 20. You must clear the cut-off set by the institute to be considered for the selection process. The same is 209 marks for MBA and 190 marks for MBA Pharmaceutical Management. 

Several MBA courses are offered at NMIMS with specializations in Supply Chain Management, Human Resources Management, Finance Management, Hospital Management, etc. and students apply from all over the country seeking admission to the institute. IIM Bangalore Selection Criteria 2026-28: CAT Cutoff, Weightage for GD, PI, and WAT

The IIM Bangalore admissions for the PGP 2026-28 batch will tentatively begin in January 2026. To be eligible for IIM Bangalore admissions 2026, students must have appeared for the CAT 2025 examination and achieved a minimum score of 85 percentile. Students who belong to the General category must have scored IIM Bangalore CAT cutoff of 85 percentile to get selected for the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. As per the IIM Bangalore selection criteria, students receive 40% of their marks for their CAT scores, 40% of their marks for the PI round, and 10% of their marks for the WAT. To take admission in B.Com in any government or private university in India, you will need to submit the following proof to get admission on Person with Disability (PWD) quota.

Disability Certificate which:

~Must be issued by a duly constituted and recognized Medical Board or a competent authority as per the guidelines of the Government of India

~It should state the type of disability and the percentage of disability. The benchmark disability (usually defined as 40% or more of the specified disability) 

Do note that this is over and above the regular documentation that ALL students will have to submit, inlcuding you. They include: Proof of Identity and Address, Academic Qualification Documents, Application Form, Passport-size Photographs etc.
