AP PECET is conducted every year by the APSCHE in association with a participating university. It is an assessment test to determine the efficiency of the candidates who seek to pursue higher studies in the physical education field. The offered courses include BPEd (2 years) and DPEd (2 years).

AP PECET 2026 Overview

The AP PECET 2026 exam is expected to be conducted in the last week of June 2026. The notification will be released in March 2026 and the application process will begin in March/ April 2026. The admit cards will be made available in June 2026. The answer key will be released in late June 2026 and the AP PECET 2026 Results will be made available in the first week of July 2026. Acharya Nagarjuna University, in association with the conducting body, organises the AP PECET to select deserving students for the BPEd (Two Years) and DPEd (Two Years) courses. The examination has two segments - the Physical Efficiency Test and the Skill Test in Game. The Physical Efficiency Test is worth 400 marks, while the maximum mark for the Skill Test is 100.

AP PECET 2026 Eligibility

Candidates who meet the conditions listed below are considered qualified to take the AP PECET 2026 - 

  • Candidates must hold Indian citizenship to be considered.
  • Only residents of the state of Andhra Pradesh are allowed to apply for AP PECET.
  • The candidates must meet the local or non-local status standards outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 2174, as it has been revised later.

Eligibility for B.P.Ed (Two years): 

As per the AP PECET eligibility criteria, candidates must have taken the third-year degree examination or have completed a three-year degree recognised by any college / university in Andhra Pradesh or any other university recognised as equivalent, and they must be at least 19 years old on July 1, 2026. The candidate must, however, present the pass certificate at the time of counselling.

Eligibility for U.G.D.P.Ed (Two years): Candidates must have taken or passed Intermediate or equivalent courses recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and be 16 years old on July 1, 2026. The candidate must, however, present the pass certificate at the time of counselling.

Graduates who received their degree through the distance education programme at Deemed-to-be Universities or Private Universities are ineligible unless the respective programmes have received approval from the joint action committees of the UGC, the Distance Education Council, and the AICTE.

AP PECET 2026 Exam Pattern

The AP PECET 2026 Exam Pattern for B.PEd and UG D.PEd comprises the following two major segments -

Physical Efficiency Test

For each of the events, marks shall be awarded by using the conversion tables approved by the AP PECET Committee.

The maximum mark of the Physical Efficiency Test is 400. Here is the breakdown of how marks are awarded for specific events via the conversion tables authorised by the AP PECET authority. The applicants have to select either High Jump or Long Jump and mention that in the AP PECET application. Candidates cannot change the option during the time of the test.

Skill Test

The Skill test in Game has a total of 100 marks. Candidates' skills may be tested from among the following game options submitted by them. 

The candidate will not be permitted to attend the examination in the skill test and will lose the opportunity to participate for the 100-mark skill test if he or she does not select any of these games while filling out the application. If a candidate selects more than one game, then also they will not be permitted to take the skill test. 

Therefore, the prospective candidate should carefully complete out the application by selecting just one game. It is not possible to change the option from the list once the test has begun.

AP PECET 2026 Original Certificate Scrutiny

Applicants must provide the below-mentioned list of original certificates and documents at the entrance test venue if asked by the AP PECET committee for scrutiny -

  • Sports Merit Certificates.
  • Pass Certificate in any of the courses: U.G.D.P.Ed / NIS / Yoga / Sports Management / Sports Science / Sports Journalism / Olympic Education / Basic Course in Adventure Sport.
  • N.C.C. Certificate (C-Certificate / B-Certificate)
  • One set of attested Photocopy of all the certificates mentioned 
  • Photocopy of the Hall Ticket

AP PECET 2026 Application

  • Only the online application format should be used to submit the application, which should also be filled out completely and accurately. On the following page, you'll find detailed instructions on how to complete the application.
  • The applicant needs to pay the Registration fee (Application processing fee) by using A.P. Online, e-seva, or mee-seva centres, or they can pay directly through the Gateway that is provided on the official website.
  • To avoid a rush of submissions at the very end, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications and application fees online as soon as possible.
  • Additionally, information on the examination dates as well as hall tickets will be made available on the website located at https://cets.apsche.ap.gov.in.
  • Candidates will not receive tickets in the mail for the event. Therefore, the candidate is responsible for downloading the Hall ticket from the official portal of AP PECET 2026.

AP PECET 2026 Qualifying Marks

  • The qualifying score in AP PECET 2026 will be 30% of the aggregate marks allocated for all the test rounds - that is Physical Efficiency and Skill Test.
  • No minimum qualification marks are applicable for applicants from the SC / ST categories.
  • Conducting authority will not carry out the re-totaling or identification of response sheets of the test.

AP PECET 2026 Results, Merit List, and Assigning Rank

The SC / ST applicants to whom the minimum qualifying marks criteria do not apply will be allotted ranking per their merit based on the aggregate marks in all the sections of the test along with incentive marks if any.

If more than one student ends up with the same total score to compile the merit list, the situation will be resolved in the following manner to decide the relative ranking. 

  • The score in the Physical Efficiency round will be given priority.
  • If the tie-breaker situation does not change, the scores in the Skill test round will be given consideration.
  • In case the tie remains, the date of birth of the applicant will be considered and elder ones will be preferred depending on the applicant’s age.
  • In the event of a further tie, the common rank will be assigned. During enrollment, the situation will be decided based on qualifying examination results.

AP PECET 2026 Rank Card

Following the publication of the results on the website, the Rank Card will be made available. Downloading the Rank Cards directly from the official website is strongly recommended for all candidates. The conducting authority will not be responsible for sending rank cards to the applicants. 

AP PECET 2026 Participating Colleges and Fee

Before the beginning of the admissions process, the list of colleges will be published on the website of AP PECET 2026. Candidates have the option of making direct contact with each college to inquire about the facilities that are offered by the colleges, hostel accommodation facilities, and the fee structure. Applicants are strongly encouraged to do their research on the institutions they are interested in joining before using the web counselling options.

AP PECET 2026 General Instructions

Some of the general information regarding the AP PECET 2026 are mentioned below - 

  • The applicants who are eligible are required to attend the counselling session in person and at their own expense; if they do not come, they will forfeit their chance to take the seat.
  • A candidate's attendance at the entrance examination does not of itself confer the right for the candidate to be regarded for admission into physical education courses. 
  • Unless the participant satisfies the precondition of eligibility as outlined by the organising authority as well as any additional criteria outlined in the rules for admission.
  • If there is any ambiguity or uncertainty about the interpretation or application of any of the rules, the opinion of the chairperson must be considered conclusive.

AP PECET 2026 Counselling and Seat Allotment

  • The admission committee will follow a Web-based counselling approach to carry out the counselling. 
  • APSCHE will publish the counselling schedule on the official site and in newspapers. 
  • The conducting body will not ship separate call letters to each candidate. 
  • Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the relevant newspaper notices for information regarding the dates of the counselling sessions and the list of helpline centres. 
  • At the time of counselling, the list of institutions that will be allotted candidates, as well as the number of students admitted into each degree and category at each institution, will be revealed. 
  • The comprehensive handbook of instructions for web counselling will be uploaded to the respective websites.

What is the qualifying mark in AP PECET 2026?

The qualifying mark in the AP PECET 2026 is 30% of the total marks allocated to the test sections, which is 500 (apart from the incentive marks). Candidates from the SC / ST category do not have to meet any minimum qualifying marks.

When is the AP PECET 2026 exam scheduled?

The AP PECET 2026 exam is scheduled to take place in the last week of June 2026 onwards. Candidates have to report for the exam from 6 AM onwards and the test will begin from 7 AM. The exam will be conducted by Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur on behalf of APSCHE.
